The international partners of the ERA-NET NEURON network of which includes the Fonds de recherche du Québec– secteur Santé (FRQ), are issuing this year 2 Prizes of the EXCELLENT PAPER IN NEUROSCIENCE AWARD (EPNA) 2024 for the next generation of researchers with the aim of ensuring that the excellence of their publications is recognized by the wider scientific community.
Winners will receive a cash prize of EUR 3,000 for the best proposal and will be highlighted on the network’s web page, as well as being invited, travel expenses paid, as a special lecturer during the Midterm Symposium on May 14/15, 2025.
Note that applicants must be affiliated with one of the ERA-NET NEURON country partners at the time of publication and that articles published in Open Access or available through an open access publication repository is strongly encouraged.
EPNA Biomedical Award 2024
Specific eligibility criteria:
- Article topic must be clearly relevant to disease-related bio-medical and translational neuroscience AND, focus on Cerebrovascular Diseases including small vessels disease (CSVD) and the dysfunction of brain barriers.
- Sole first author of publication published between January 1st, 2023 and December 31st, 2023.
- Please note that certain fields of research are excluded from this call for proposals.

EPNA Neuroethics Award 2024
Specific eligibility criteria:
- Article subject should contribute to advancing important research questions concerning the ethical, philosophical, legal and socio-cultural aspects of neuroscience AND its recent advances, and to assessing the opportunities and risks associated with technological and methodological advances.
- Sole first author of publication published between January 1st, 2020 and December 31st, 2023.
- Please note that certain fields of research are excluded from this call for proposals.
