This program refers to the FRQ’s Common General Rules (CGR), which govern all of the FRQ’s programming. All conditions and modalities of this Call are detailed in the Guidelines for Applicants, and these Guidelines take precedence over the CGR.

1. CONTEXT
Since 2013, the FRQ and FWO have collaborated on the Bilateral Research Cooperation Program between Québec and Flanders. This fifth joint call for proposals is a continuation of this rich and beneficial partnership.
2. OBJECTIVES
This program aims to contribute (1) to the excellence of research in Flanders and Québec and (2) to the development of scientific cooperation by financially supporting interdisciplinary collaborative research projects between both research communities, involving at least two of the three sectors of the FRQ:
- Health (Domains covered by the Heath Sector)
- Society & Culture (Domains covered by Society and Culture Sector)
- Nature & Technologies (Domains covered by the Nature and Technologies Sector)
3. CARACTERISTICS
- The grant is for a maximum of three years, up to a maximum of $100 000 per year (excluding Indirect Research Costs) for Québec teams.
- Proposals must include two eligible research teams: one in Québec and one in Flanders.
- The Québec team must include at least two university researchers.
- Proposal submission:
- Main application form submitted to FWO: This proposal must be developed jointly by the two teams and submitted in the platform E-Loket by the Flemish principal investigator (PI).
- Administrative form submitted to FRQ: This form is for the Québec teams only, to be submitted in the FRQnet Electronic Portfolio by the Québec PI.
