
The Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ) and its partner the Research Foundation – Flanders (FWO) are proud to launch a fifth call for proposals. This Call aims to strengthen research excellence in Flanders and Québec and foster scientific collaboration between these two communities by supporting collaborative and interdisciplinary research projects.
About the Call:
- Projects must be fundamental in nature and cover research areas within at least two of the three FRQ sectors.
- Proposals must include two eligible research teams: one in Québec and one in Flanders.
- The Québec team must include at least two university researchers.
- Proposal submission:
- Main application form submitted to FWO: This proposal must be developed jointly by the two teams and submitted in the platform E-Loket by the Flemish principal investigator (PI).
- Administrative form submitted to FRQ: This form is for the Québec teams only, to be submitted in the FRQnet Electronic Portfolio by the Québec PI.
Key dates and information:
- Competition year: 2026-2027
- Annual amount: Up to $100 000 (excluding ICR) for Quebec teams
- Funding term: 3 years
- Announcement of competition results: December 2026
- Deadline (main application form – FWO): June 18 at 11:00 am EDT
- Deadline (administrative form – FRQ): June 18 at 16:00 pm EDT
