3rd prize: Olivier Robin, Université de Sherbrooke

For the past six years, Olivier Robin has worked as a research professional in the GAUS acoustics group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Université de Sherbrooke. He provides ongoing support to develop and carry out research projects and train students. His commitment to mentorship was recognized at the 2019 Chapeau les filles competition.

His work has led international to collaborations with experts in France, Italy and the United States, as well as 36 journal publications mainly in the fields of vibroacoustics and vibration imaging using high-speed cameras.

He is dedicated to knowledge transfer and translation and coordinated the creation of Son, que du son at the Musée de la nature et des sciences de Sherbrooke, which earned a 2020 Prix Cascade for best exhibition (small museum institution) from the Canadian Association of Science Centres. Olivier Robin also developed a multifaculty PhD course on scientific communication through comics, which he has taught since January 2020, as well as training sessions to build scientific communication skills.
