Abstract

CO2 emissions have exceeded the recycling capability of the nature, resulting in a series of environmental problems. The electrochemical reduction of CO2 could allow converting CO2 into carbonbased chemicals that can be used as fuels. Mengyang Fan designed and synthesized a new generation of dendritic Bi modified porous Pb electrode, showing excellent converting efficiency of CO2 with good stability and producing the value-added formate. Furthermore, she addressed the challenging issue of unrevealing the nature of the Bi active sites, and provided a new sight of catalyst design. Her work promises a bright future of green-house gas conversion and 3D-materials design.
