The primary objective of QISAQ (Qualification et insertion socioprofessionnelle des jeunes adultes québécois) is to generate the knowledge needed to develop, implement and evaluate educational and organizational best practices.
In a context where students, education stakeholders and business settings all play an active part in vocational training, QISAQ’s researchers are focusing on the sharing and application of this knowledge among primary vocational training stakeholders as well as the numerous partners directly or indirectly involved in activities aimed at providing skills training, guidance and support for the social and professional integration of youth.
This program innovates through its examination of dimensions like “school”, “business” and “workforce integration”.
QISAQ’s research program is structured around four themes:
1) Enhancing our knowledge of the pedagogical and organizational approaches used in vocational training programs leading to a diploma and adult education programs.
2) Analyzing the different types of existing partnerships between schools (youth and adult sectors) and business settings and their impact on academic persistence and graduation rates.
3) Analyzing the impact of the location and type of host companies on a range of indicators including work motivation, professional skills development and the graduation of students in vocational training programs.
4) Developing knowledge on the personal, socio-professional and economic consequences of not having a diploma on young adults identified as SHSMLD in the youth sector.
This research program innovates through its examination of various dimensions of qualification, namely “school”, “business” and “workforce integration”, leading to a multidimensional analysis of the qualification and employability of SHSMLD.
